If you’re like me, you’re a fan of America’s Got Talent. And, you were probably just as excited to see magician Mat Franco win Season 9 of AGT.
Mat Franco is a real talent. Normally, when I go see a magic show, I’m always trying to figure out how the magician does it. But not at this show. Mat Franco is so charismatic, that not only are you excited to see the trick, but you really don’t care how it’s done. You just care that you’re WOW’D.
What I really liked about the show, is that several of the tricks that he did on America’s Got Talent are in the show. Now, I had already seen the trick on television, but seeing it live is a WHOLE other thing. Because you know there are no camera tricks or misdirection. You’re there, looking where you want to look. For those that like to try and figure out how he does the tricks, seeing it live is especially helpful.
One of the things Mat Franco does, is he brings the magic to the audience. Typically, magicians will stay on stage to do their tricks. Not Mat. He is constantly including people in the crowd. Whether it’s using something that they own or bringing them on stage. I mean, how he got that woman’s $100 bill into a random flavor packet of a Top Ramen package, I will never know.
But, that’s okay. I don’t want to know. I prefer just being amazed and leaving it at that.
